What is MYLocal?

In 2009, Gayelle The Channel will be embarking upon a nation-wide patriotism-driven project called the MYLocal campaign.  This campaign is geared toward promoting and growing the appreciation and value of all things local. Taking the concept of "Buy-Local" a leap further, the MYLocal campaign is aimed in part, at stimulating the nation to act upon its fundamental role in the generation of economic productivity. The campaign’s use of "MY" is also intended to encourage a feeling of ownership of that role to all Trinbagonians. The MYLocal campaign also aims to promote a sense of confidence in all aspects of our local economy across industries such as Manufacturing, Arts & Culture, Tourism or the Environment.

The MYLocal campaign is also geared toward highlighting, endorsing and promoting those events, organizations and community efforts that are being made over the next year to reflect positively on local industry. Gayelle The Channel hopes that this will stimulate and maintain the vibrancy of our economy during the challenging economic period ahead. The campaign will encourage all citizens of Trinidad and Tobago "take in front before front take them" to create activities in their own communities through the motivation of existing groups, schools or organizations to initiate MYLocal activities which Gayelle will attempt to highlight throughout the year.

4 Pillars of the MYLocal campaign:

  1. MYLocal Community Outreach
  2. MYLocal Made In TNT
  3. MYLocal Entrepreneur
  4. MYLocal Culture

Gayelle is also inviting all members of the communities around Trinidad and Tobago to tell us about community projects currently going on that contribute to the enhancement of your community life.
